Having spent over 25 years in the investments industry, where training and support is mandated and built into your role, it was quite a culture shock to decide to go it alone in a brand-new industry – starting my own travel agency, offering client focused bespoke travel experiences. At that time I felt that investing in some support would be wise, and hopefully beneficial. I had known Neil for a couple of years socially, and knew that he was a business coach, so decided to have a conversation with him to see if what he did could be of benefit to me. I’ve been working with Neil since April 2024. I started working with Neil because I felt like I wasn’t in a great place and realized I could do with some support in my personal and working life. I was finding life a little overwhelming, almost a little too much to handle at times. I have a busy and demanding job, along with an active social life, combined with being a single mum to a beautiful 5 year old girl. Neil & I meet fortnightly and I generally come to the meeting with things to discuss, or should I say things that are bothering me that need sorting. We discuss the situation, we come up with ideas as to how we can resolve it and between us we get it done ! I love ticking those things off a list and moving on. It’s great to have someone I can turn to who will help me get stuff done. I like the fact that he holds me accountable and he checks in with me in between our meetings. I know if I ever have a problem I can pick up the phone or message him and he’ll make time for me to discuss whatever is on my mind.
